Barbara Fergusson
placeholder
placeholdBarbaraer Barbara Fergusson supports and empowers her students with her relaxed, knowledgeable leadership in the classrrom. Her teaching approach honors the individuality of each student, and endows them with the ability to recognize good alignment and find a correct sense of ease within each pose. Her goal is to teach students to tune into their own individual reaction to each pose, and see their practice as a series of lessons that can be applied both on the mat and in the world. A master teacher who has inspired several of her students to become teachers, Barbara began teaching yoga in 1980. She and fellow Yoga Room graduate Todd Jackson opened Portland Yoga Arts in 2002.

Todd Jackson

placeholdTodder Todd Jackson brings to class his bodywork training and experience in assisting others to feel greater ease, comfort and joy in their bodies. A graduate of the Advanced Studies Program at the Yoga Room in Berkeley, Todd’s ability to see and understand bodies has earned him a reputation as a teacher who can adeptly guide students out of their trouble spots and into a healthier, more integrated experience of themselves. Mindy Coolidge

placeholdMindyer Mindy Coolidge’s first yoga love was Vinyasa flow. She moved to Iyengar yoga from a desire to focus more on alignment in each pose, to employ props to bring more of the poses to life. Personal experience has solidified her belief in the power of yoga to help us move beyond our fears and take an active role in our physical and emotional wellbeing. Mindy’s classes cultivate a similar trust in the practice, emphasizing proper foundation and intentional movement.

Jill Spencer

placeholdMindyer Jill Spencer has been using yoga to bring balance to an active lifestyle for over 20 years. She helps her students find the physical and emotional benefits of yoga practice, and guides them through traditional yoga poses with confidence and compassion. Jill has studied with Barbara and Todd for 10 years and is nearing graduation from the Advanced Studies Program.
